The founding partner and overall in-charge of the firm's activities. From 1961 -1981 he was the principal design partner of M/s. Pradhan Ghosh and Associates, after which UGA was established. Having great interest in vocal music and impulsive painting, he has always tried to reflect these in his professional works. He is also involved in several charity projects like schools, health facilities, ashrams, temples, for social and religious organizations.

He is particularly responsible for Planning & Urban Design related projects. After initially working in Pradhan Ghosh and Associates, he completed his Masters in USA (1981) and worked with reputed Urban Design and Landscape firms like Hanna/Olin in Philadelphia. Being an active academician, he teaches as visiting Professor in the Urban Design Department, SPA, New Delhi since 1983. He is an urbanist and loves nature.
